Look it up in the dictionary

Let me tell you a sad, terrible fictional story about a boy name Xander. Xander was a bright young boy who always obeyed the rules, his mom and dad, and was always honest. He always did his homework. He got along with everyone, and I mean everyone. He did nothing to hurt anyone, and he always shared his lunch when someone forgot theird. What a wonderful boy! During a English test in 3rd grade, he had to write a short story about his favorite movie character. He wrote about Iron Man. During his story he asked his story how to spell "aloud". The teacher told him to look it up in the dictonary. So he looked it up and he found the word "allowed" and so he wrote that spelling instead of the correct spelling. When he got his story back, he got a 90% because of one misspelled word. After this test, his self-esteem went down. His grades dropped. Before he was in 7th grade he was a really bad boy. His grades were pretty bad with a D-- in every class.

Now this happened because of this one incident. If his teacher had told him the correct spelling, this terrible stuff would not have happened to him. Why do people do this? Say "Look in the dictionary." People look up words to find the definition not the spelling. If you do not know the spelling, then how will you find it. Luckily Xander is now very well educated. His 8th grade P.E. teacher who was a staff seargent turned him completely around. Thank God for him. Today Xander is now a successful lawyer with over $20million dollars and has parties with beer, yet he does not drink the beer. Surprising, yes? You are right. It is surprising!

Someone's life was almost ruined because of one word spelled wrong.
